The Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra & Chakra Therapy
The seventh chakra is the Crown Chakra, in Sanskrit – Sahasrara, what is translated as “thousand fold”. This chakra is located on the top of the head. It is responsible for energizing pineal gland, brain and body. This is one of the main points through which Prana enters the body. Because it is connected to other chakras, any disharmony in the work the Crown Chakra is reflected in other centers. The symbol of this chakra is representing infinity nimbus of thousands white petals of which each is tuned to higher states of consciousness. The Crown Chakra radiates purple and gold, which are the colors of meditation.
Sahasrara is the center which connects to the spiritual dimensions. When the Crown Chakra is open, we experience connection with everything and everyone. We feel that we are a part of the universe connected with the Divine Being. The Crown Chakra is the center of our spiritual needs and fulfillment. Being awake, it opens an opportunity to benefit from the unlimited space and time. What we understood intellectually, then intuitively, becomes clear understanding.

Harmonious functioning of the Crown Chakra
There is no blockages of the Crown Chakra, it can only be more or less open or developed. Working harmoniously, it provides a sense of communication between the inner being and outer life. Consciousness becomes quiet and deep. When the Crown Chakra functions properly, there is a chance to become enlighten; people cannot regress in their development. Individual self converts into the universal self. There is an understanding of higher spiritual truths that one begins to receive and use in everyday life. One begins to understand that the world of matter is the world of illusion. Internally, a person is calm, balanced, accepting things as they are, without a judgment.

Disharmonious functioning of the Crown Chakra
Undeveloped seventh chakra can cause separation and lack of a sense of “belonging”, which causes fear. Fear, as a negative low vibrating energy, restricts growth by blocking harmonious cooperation of all chakras. When the seventh chakra is closed, the rejection of the spiritual sphere, atheism, scepticism, the cult of mind and logical thinking may appear. Disharmony of this chakra may cause opposite reactions too. One, forgetting about the matter, may be preoccupied with the spiritual sphere. Spirituality can, but need not, be an escape from the routine of everyday life, problems in a relationship, lack of work, unfulfilled dreams. When one is not well grounded and internally aligned, the inner confusion may cause surrendering to the will of others, especially authority figures, with hope that others will magically solve his/her problems. Therefore, people with depression, having a weak will, can easily be attracted by a guru, whose strength rises with adoration of his “faithful” ones.
The Root Chakra and the Crown Chakras are the two ends of the same line. Harmony is achieved when both, the first and seventh, chakras are open; only then the energy is balanced and flows harmoniously.

The Third Eye Chakra

The Third Eye Chakra & Chakra Therapy
The sixth chakra, due to its location – slightly above the middle point between the eyebrows, is called the Third Eye Chakra. Its Sanskrit name is Ajna, what is translated as “to know”, “to see”. It radiates indigo, a deep blue and camphoric white color. Its symbol is the two-petal lotus flower, inside which there is a circle. Inside the circle there is a triangle pointing downwards. The third eye is a source of knowledge which has no rational, logical, predictable basis. It is associated with memory, will, higher states of consciousness, and super powers of the mind. At the physical level the sixth chakra is responsible for the central nervous system by controlling the activity of pituitary gland and stimulating the brain. It also has an influence on the eyes and nose functions.

Harmonious functioning of the Third Eye Chakra:
Harmonious functioning of this chakra gives a person deep awareness of his or her thoughts; he or she is in a need for observing the thoughts and their flow, a need for internal insight. Smoothly functioning third eye chakra builds up psychic abilities – telepathy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, and energy perception. A man can explore different dimensions of reality similar to those experienced during meditation. Opening of the third eye gives us the possibility of intuitive approach to reality and existence in unchangeable, cosmic consciousness. All duality ceases. Balanced third eye chakra becomes the center of wisdom and inner guidance. It supports manifestation of dreams realm in the real world and accomplishment of ones visions.

Disharmonious functioning of the Third Eye Chakra:
Disharmony of this chakra appears with people who live fast, focusing on external and rational matters; they experience a feeling of “a heavy head”. The result of disharmony may be a life primarily based on the intellect and reasoning. In this state of mind one acts upon the rules gained from rational thinking, lacking overall perception of the Higher Order. A man rejects the spiritual knowledge as irrational, untrue, and scientifically unproven one.

Hypo-functioning:
The third eye chakra hypofunctioning causes problems with creative thinking. Suppressing intuition, we perceive the world from a rational perspective only. We create a false impression of reality. We live just outside and our life is mainly limited to material goods and physical needs; we lack deeper insight into our lives. Our perception is limited to common beliefs and ideas spread by throngs. In traumatic situations, a person with blocked sixth chakra loses concentration and temper quickly. There may appear problems with vision, what suggests that the time to look inwards has come.

The Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra & Chakra Therapy

The fifth chakra, in Sanskrit Vishudda, is also known as communication center. It is situated in the middle of the throat and that is why it is named the Throat Chakra. Its Sanskrit meaning is translated as “cleansing”. This chakra radiates light-blue color. It is symbolized by a lotus flower of sixteen petals and on each petal there is a different Sanskrit vowel representing the Spirit. Inside the lotus there is the full moon, the triangle and the elephant. The throat chakra stimulates work of thyroid gland, parathyroid, pharynx and regulates functions of the lymphatic system. Potentials of all the lower chakras are expressed through this center, and through this chakra gathered content is passed on to the outside world. Through Vishudda, we reveal everything there is inside us, starting from laughter, joy, feelings of love, to fear, anger, desire, and all our internal life.
This chakra is associated with assertiveness, which is the ability set up our boundaries, to express ourselves on many levels, talking about our needs and desires. Except for speaking, the fifth chakra is also connected with hearing. Nowadays, we are losing the ability of hearing. We are spiritually “forced” to improve our external hearing to be able to hear our inner voice. The throat chakra motivates our actions in life mostly between the age of twenty eight and thirty five.

Harmonious functioning of the throat chakra
Open throat chakra gives us the ability of good communication with the environment; releases from blaming others for our failures; we stop hurting. We are creating our own lives, implement our dreams and fulfill our needs. If we get to the throat chakra through the heart, we become creative and gain a remarkable gift of speech. Expressing joy, our words become art, melody, have their own fragrance. We can be silent and listen to those around us with full understanding and compassion. We have our own view on reality and we do not give up our opinion easily.

Inharmonious functioning of the throat chakra
When the throat chakra vortexes are spinning too slowly, problems with assertiveness appear. People cannot talk about what they think, feel and want. External symptom is a tight neck, frequent sore throat, unclear voice, speaking too quietly or too loudly. Statements lack deeper meaning. Sometimes stuttering appears. We tend to hide our weaknesses carefully and simultaneously emphasizing our strengths. A person with inharmoniously functioning throat chakra may be trying to manipulate other people, some Chakra therapy here might be very useful

Hypofunctioning
Hypofunctioning throat chakra leads to lack of good contact with our feelings. When we have to talk about ourselves, we experience tightness in the throat and voice can break down, fade, or be heard as forced. We may lack confidence in presence of people being afraid of their judgments. In life, we are guided by the opinions of others fearing expressing our own beliefs. If this chakra is not fully opened over a lifetime, people become mentally “stiff” and their cognitive abilities are limited.

The Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra & Chakra Therapy
The fourth chakra is the Heart Chakra, in Sanskrit Anahata. This chakra is symbolized by lotus flower of twelve petals inside which there is a hexagram composed of two triangles. Anahata means “untouched” which relates to the coexistence of the body and the spirit. This chakra is the center between the lower chakras associated with the material existence and the upper chakras related to the spirituality. In this chakra the energetic threads connecting all the chakras converge; it is a place of balance. The Heart Chakra radiates green, pink, and sometimes golden. It charges human body with energy and regulates harmonious work of the heart. It is related to thymus and through it regulates the immune system. On the level of the heart chakra altruistic behaviors appear. Therefore, it is sometimes called the Christ’s chakra. This chakra is responsible for forgiving and compassion. Through the heart chakra we perceive the beauty of nature, harmony in music, art and poetry. This chakra is a “connector” to states of higher consciousness and understanding of existence. When Anahata is open and spins smoothly it becomes the center of true and unconditional love. When we love ourselves, we love others and the surrounding life.
This chakra influences our lives most intensively between the age of twenty one and twenty eighth. The heart chakra opens widely in this stage of life. In this period of life we fall in love, are in love, are loved, we accept and love as a whole. We feel the energy flow, and everything around us is beautiful, colorful, magic, and fulfilled with love. This stage teaches how we can live and coexist with the beloved person and other people.
Harmonious functioning of the Heart Chakra
An open and harmonious heart chakra is the joy of life that emanates around us and our reality. We become full a joy, trust in ourselves, the world, and the Universe. Our relations with the community are deprived of external and internal conflicts. We love for the sake of loving without expecting anything in return. We feel we are taken care of. We are entirely present while doing each activity. We understand and receive the divine bond, without which we cannot function properly on the Earth plan.
Disharmonious functioning of the Heart Chakra:
The heart chakra is the gateway to spirituality and true joy, but it is also a very sensitive place, which under the influence of “injuries” shields itself to protect us from further pain and suffering. that’s why heart chakra therapy must be conducted carefully. But life with a closed heart is like a “non-life.” We were created from love and when we close our hearts we close them to all their manifestations. Disharmony in this chakra causes the difficulty in expressing feelings. We may be embarrassed experiencing sensitivity and gentleness. We tend to convince ourselves that we do not need love and as a result we experience loneliness, lack of joy, depression. We do not open ourselves to receiving and giving.
Heart diseases are associated with feeling-emotional issues. The experienced burden on the heart is usually associated with issues from the past, a sense of injustice, resentment felt towards someone. Therefore it is important to open up the energy of forgiveness, as forgiveness can release and releases love.
Hypo-functioning
In the case of hypofunctioning of the heart chakra we could compare human behaviors to those of a snail which comes in and goes out of his house, guided by the sense of security. When we try to open up to the world and to attempt people but we fail, we feel rejected and are deeply affected. When the attempt fails, the snail returns back to his house, sad and depressed. We would like to try again and go out, but the fear of another rejection causes an inability to find a proper way of living; this fear leads to the feeling of life decrepitude. We begin to play a role of a victim aggrieved by life.

The Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra & Chakra Therapy
The third chakra, in Sanskrit known as MANIPURA, which means glittering jewel, is called the Solar Plexus Chakra. It is located in the region of the solar plexus in the hole between the ribs, below the breastbone. Its symbol is the lotus flower of ten petals, inside which there is a pointing down triangle with three symbols of the fire. It radiates yellow, golden color like the sun.
This chakra controls and energizes the work of the diaphragm, the liver, the spleen, the stomach, the adrenal glands, the kidneys, the testes, the pancreas, the colon, the lungs, the heart and other parts of the body. By energizing and controlling the functions of the liver, the solar plexus chakra affects the quality of the blood. It influences as well the mechanism of the body temperature regulation.
Through the solar plexus chakra flow the subtle energies from the lower and higher chakras. Through this chakra the whole body can be energized Therefore, it is believed that the solar plexus chakra is our Sun, the energetic center that nourishes and revitalizes the body.
Manipura rules our lives in the age between 14 to 21. The motivational energy of this chakra stimulates the development of the ego. For the average person, this chakra is the place where his or her personality is located. It is the center in which we find out social identity, it supports our strength, our will of achieving, and our aspiration for power, and adaptation to social norms. Open solar plexus provides a good physical and emotional condition, as well as an emotional balance.
Through this chakra we recognize the vibrations of other people and respond to them accordingly.

Harmonious functioning of the Solar Plexus chakra:
The Solar Plexus chakra is our inner flame. If there is a lot of fire, we look at life with courage, we are not afraid of the risk or challenge, we accept changes and adapt to them easily. Harmonious working of this chakra guarantees emotional balance and relatively stable emotional well-being. We act without the fear of rejection and criticism. We can create our own unique identity without the need of the group approval. If Manipura is open it leads to sense of peace, inner harmony, the harmony with life and the social status. It also allows us to respect the feelings and individuality of others.

Disharmonious functioning of the solar plexus chakra:
The symptom of disharmonious functioning of the third chakra is excessive need of influence and control over the internal and external world. The desire to concur, control and to rule appears. The lack of self-esteem and peace is accompanied by dissatisfaction. The difficulties with achieving inner peace and self-control may appear. A person’s aim becomes pursuit towards wealth and recognition, which cannot give permanent satisfaction. A person may develop the needs of dominance and possessiveness and experience the feelings of jealousy, lack of emotional control, and provoking others to argue. When this chakra functions are disharmonized, people need constant change, they desire the difficult experiences to test, compare, and raise their own self-esteem. These desires are often met in the environment of power, politics and business.

Hypo-function:
The symptom of hypo function of the Solar Plexus chakra is the lack of self-esteem. People are unable to take risks and do something new, they fear change; they are stuck in the old, familiar thought patterns and toxic relationships. The faded flame of the third chakra causes the fear of loneliness, which leads to involvement in the addictive relationship. A person feels that he or she cannot influence the course of things and everything is predetermined, and as a result the sense of hopelessness and giving up appears. One sees obstructions everywhere. The new experiences are afflicted by the fear, which leads to the negative thoughts of oneself (such as “I`m not strong enough for challenge“, “There`s no point trying, I`ll lose“, “I`m hopeless“ etc.) and consequential blockage of those experiences.

The Root Chakra

The Root Chakra & Chakra therapy

Chakras are the whirling energy centers of different size (the large, the medium and the small ones) that control and energize the most important parts of the physical body (visible body). They function as the organs receiving the energy form the surrounding, universal field of life energy. There are seven major chakras located along the spine.
The first chakra (in Sanskrit – Muladhara Chakra), the Base Chakra, the Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, and it touches the thin end of the sacrococcygeal joint.
It is being described as a circle with four petals, which symbolize the nerve ganglion arising from the four major nerve endings. In a man’s body they are related to the male organs: prostate, bladder and anus in woman’s body: vagina, fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix. This chakra creates a foundation for life and is the source of vital forces for the remaining chakras. It is responsible for our will of living and provides the body with the vital sources.
The petals’ color is described as vermilion with crimson shade.
The first chakra is the motivator of life of children in the age between one and seven years old. In that age a child is selfish and preoccupied with his or her physical survival and existence. This chakra works as magnetic tape that records and stores our earliest experiences and memories. There are saved fulfilled and unfulfilled needs of a small child.
This chakra controls, energizes and strengthens the physical body, especially the muscular and the bone systems (including the spine). It stimulates hematogenic process and is responsible for blood count, affects work of the endocrine glands, controls and energizes body tissues and internal organs. It stimulates the work of sex organs and it is responsible for maintaining the body temperature.
Similarly to the heart in a physical body, the root chakra is the circulatory center of the subtle energies in the energetic body. The root chakra anchors collective unconsciousness from which the collective wisdom is released. Achieving the state of internal harmony requires balancing the first and the seventh chakras.
People with well functioning root chakra are of the great vitality and good health.

Harmonious-balanced function of the root chakra
People with an open and harmoniously functioning root chakra have a strong will of living and experience a deep personal relationship with the Earth and its beings. They are well grounded, have self-trust and self-confidence, and being full of internal strength, they draw the satisfaction and stability from their lives. These people are self-controlled with high physical energy and good health. They live their lives on Earth with full trust, accepting with gratitude all that is given to them form the Earth.

Disharmonious function of the root chakra
Infirmities of the root chakra will cause the need in emotional support; people’s self-esteem is quite low and tendency to auto destructive behaviors may appear. Their activities are primarily directed to meet their own needs. For those with the root chakra dysfunctions it is fairly hard to offer to or receive from others. Their thoughts are mainly directed towards the material possessions and security.

Hypo function of the root chakra
With blocked, clotted or closed root chakra mental and physical resistance are very weak. These conditions are accompanied by the feeling of lack of a ground under the feet, lack of self-esteem and stability, and appearance of many problems in life. There is a strong longing for life which would be easier, more enjoyable and less demanding.
Concluding, the base chakra acts as a root of a tree. When the root of the tree is weak the tree will also be weak.

The Sacral Chakra (Sexual Chakra)

Chakra Therapy
The second chakra in Sanskrit – Svadhisthana, the Sacral Chakra is sometimes named the Spleen or the Splenic chakra. It is located just above the pubic bone. The narrow end of the chakra touches the center of the pubic bone. The Hindu symbol of this chakra is the lotus with six petals with a white circle in the middle. It emanates with orange color. It stimulates the work of gonads – male and female glands. It control and energizes the bladder and the sex organs.

The sacral chakra leads us from the basic existence to what makes worth living. Sometimes it is named as sexual chakra, as it involves our sexuality, the libido, the acceptance of self as a sexual being. It is also associated with passion and creativity, as well as all the joy and positive feelings. This is the chakra of delight in the world. If it works harmoniously, we have a passion for life, we are able to enjoy our lives as children, and we are very creative. The Sacral chakra is also responsible for the feelings of a romance, partnerships, energy of a flirt, and the “chemistry” between people. It is related to the undisturbed flow of emotions and the expression of feelings. Our actions are motivated by the sacral chakra in age of eight to fourteen. This is the period when our imagination develops. As the new body awareness develops, the sensuality appears in relationships. Our interpersonal relationships, especially those against the other sex, are definitely influenced by the sacral chakra. A variety of erotic games are also the area of its influence, like the experience of unity in a harmonious sexual act.

Harmonious function for The Sacral Chakra:
It manifests itself as the natural flow of life and feelings. A person is open and natural against the people of the opposite sex. Sexual unity with the loved one becomes a possibility for union in the cosmic dance of male and female energy of creation. Entire opening of the second center takes place when you accept your own sexuality, love yourself and accept death and face the process of passing.

Inharmonious function:
The Sacral Chakra is often a blocked, because once we could not express our feelings freely when we heard: “This was not proper to do”, “You have to be a good girl/boy”, “Girls should play with dolls, and not to walk on the trees.” All of these orders and prohibitions directly affect our sexuality, our body acceptance, our true nature; they block our spontaneity and joy. Disharmony of the Sacral Chakra can be a result of an early childhood lack of sensitivity and physical closeness, which in turn may lead to sexuality rejection, excessive sexual fantasizing or suppressed sexuality. In interpersonal relations a person may experience uncertainty and tension of the opposite sex
.
Hypo-function of The Sacral Chakra:
When this chakra’s vortexes are spinning too fast, the strong sexual needs may appear. A person is preoccupied with the sexual sphere and perceives many situations through the sexual pleasure. He or she may even be sex addicted. The cause often lies in the inability to convey and process the energy into the creativity, the spirituality and the long-lasting, deep relationships. Hypofunction of the Sacral Chakra is probably formed in our childhood, due to the lack of sensory stimulation of touch, stroking, affection, which should be a given to a child by the loving parents. During adolescence rising sexual energies are being blocked what leads to sexual frigidity. Life seems be gloomy and unattractive. The Sacral Chakra blockages also cause difficulties in male-female relations and affect self-esteem. These blockages may cause disorders in women and men sexual systems, impotence, and prostate disorders. few of Reiki sessions in some cases able to stabilize the flew of universal energy through this Chakra
